Bev's Story...
Bev's Beef Bodega is a little shop with a 1940's setting,
located with-in Hay USA in Weatherford, Texas.
It was built for Beverly Blitzer.
That's Liz Blitzer mom (owner of Hay USA).
Beverly and Nate left the West coast and bravely moved to Texas in their 80's.
We opened "Bev's Beef Bodega" one year after they moved here.
At the Bodega she sells two premium products,
Both frozen.
Clearly she sell's beef, but this is no ordinary beef.
Bev's Beef is "All Natural, all Texan"
Her cattle freely roam in pastures in the Texas Panhandle.
They are grass and grain fed daily.
They are cared for by a true shepherd producing quality beef and lamb
There are no antibiotics used ever
There are no hormones added ever
There are no additives or preservatives used in processing ever
We focus on Humane Animal Handling
Bev's Beef is naturally lean
Bev's beef is dry aged for 22 days or more
Bev's beef is butcher wrapped, priced and flash frozen at the processing plant
For special handling and the personal touch...
We go to Dalhart, Texas to participate in the butchering process.
We trim, pack, price and are a part of the decision making of how
the beef is butchered.
We are fortunate to be a part of the entire process including the raising of the beef.
At Bev's Beef Bodega , Beverly sells her beef frozen.
Freezing it is the only natural way to preserve
beef with out chemicals.
Her beef is rich, tender and flavorful.
Bev also sells cake!
When you come to Hay USA to buy alfalfa, bermuda or timothy...
Be prepared for Mrs. Beverly to come out of her shop
and into the barn with cake in hand...
You won't have an opportunity to say "no thank you"
as she puts a generous piece of cake in your hand
then asks you to follow her into her Bodega.
She will then show you the varieties of cakes and cuts of beef
she has that day in her freezer.
She sells "My Grandma's of New England Coffee Cake".
These coffee cakes are hand made and certified Orthodox Kosher.
